Some dropped out after grade six, nine,or twelve. Tertiary education remains an unfulfilled dream for many youngsters in Ghana. Some pick up a trade, and others end up in prison. Many youngsters travel from their deprived villages to the capital city in search of good living and survival. There are uncountable stories of youthful tragedies in Accra. Thankfully, the government of Ghana now sponsors basic and secondary education, but there is more work to be done in bridging the gap between the poor and the rich.

Street-wise aims to support creative, skillful, and determined Ghanaian youths who are (or were) not in formal schools. ADA helps to raise capitals for the participants. Funds are invested in machines, equipment and a place where they can work. Additionally, participants are introduced to marketing skills, entrepreneurship, and mentors. Youngsters without any immediate skill are enrolled in partner technical and vocational institutions for training. Street-Wise is an approach to encourage vocational and technical education, as well as creating more job opportunities in the country. Participants in return, train other individuals who would want to be part of this programme.
